PoTC3 rocked! =D Very epic and funny. Plot's incredibly complicated and you'll need to take notes just to keep track of different storylines though, which was the only negative thing about it. =/

Johnny Depp was good as usual. Orlando Bloom and Keira Knightley were given much much bigger roles in this movie, and surprisingly, one of the funniest scenes were not by Jack Sparrow, but by Will and Elizabeth. They were actually quite impressive in this movie! Especially Elizabeth, whose role has grown SO MUCH beyond the damsel in distress in POTC1.

ok on a side note, yes its perfectly fine to discuss the topic. From the time i heard that we were gonna split, i sorta already accepted that fact. Cause the school has never really cared about these sorta appeals and what not.

It was inevitable.

Well 3 months have come since our split and yes i would say most of us has assimilated into our different classes (with the exception of a few here and there perhaps) but thats only natural. You cant like isolate yourself forever, you have to interact.

afterall its only human.

And yes, the memories we share truely shaped who we are now. So lets just enjoy and bask in it. Memories are afterall, only memories.

and yes i agree with jacky, it makes no difference if there are only 10+ members left in 60 or if there were 25. Its our identity to share anyway, so lets keep it that way.

I don't think 'moving on' is the right words for it. Maybe 'adapt' would be a better word. We can adapt to the new class and environment, but the memories, like christine said, will always be there. I don't think we can completely 'move on' and forget about the first 3 months in s60. It's the memories that make who we are, and what makes up the memories of our jc life. =( If that makes any sense.

But it's nice to see that we've more or less integrated ourselves into our new classes and made the best of our situations.

I don't state things I don't believe in. I'm still able to connect well with most of my primary school classmates, if that gives you an idea of how I am! But no, I'm not particularly idealistic about s60 together forever and all that jazz; we were together for too short a period of time. But I don't believe that s60 was just "one phase of our life". It's part of us, we have memories securing it; life goes on but we don't "leave these things behind". You're my classmates (or even ex-classmates if you persist with that), we're not all acquaintances or particularly good friends but we're still a class, nevertheless.

It's perfectly fine to change your beliefs with new input, but if you don't have a base belief which you will forever believe in you have no firm direction in life.

If there is a 08s60, the Daryl or me will probably volunteer to be the councilor in charge, seeing as 66 and 6e have so many councillors ... Hope our class can get back together for class birhtday at least.

I can say that the first three months really changed some of my beliefs in life,and I'll always treasure those memories. But many people are changing, or showing their true colours as the months fly by. So I guess we don't all feel the same towards each other, that's causing the rift.

Too bad that we can't have all we want in life. But I must say s60 has been and still is the greatest class I have been in. I won't stop playiong frisbee, even if only one of you plays it still.

So, our meaning of life is fluid based on the stage of life we're at? Philip says that I'm contradictory and because of that, that I don't have firm beliefs; I don't see how that coheres at all. (HI PHILIP) Is there anything wrong with changing one's beliefs based on input of new experiences anyhow?

Complete change of topic, but do you think it's possible to take next year's juniors? I don't want s60 to be gone just like that, nor do I want our venerated traditions to be EXTINGUISHED as they would if another class took over. They might attempt to put 08s60 under 07s66 too because of the sheer number of s60 people there, but it'll be so different.

We are organizing a peer mentoring project for students in Chestnut Drive Secondary School during the second week of the June holidays and are extremely HUNGRY for volunteers, because we have over 60 vacant slots to fill by the end of next week. Otherwise, the poor students are going to have to go on without a tutor to assist them in their road to the O/N Levels. Please help us in the project, help them in their revision, and do a favour to your kind souls too with a little good deed which will go a long way. Yesterday, in The New Paper, I read a touching account of a lady and her li'l son who waited for the people who cleared rubbish in her neighbourhood to turn up so they could give them packets of cold Ribena drinks just to show appreciation for the work that they do.

I don't think I can reproduce the article written by Leong Ching in its entirety, though I really wish I could cause it is such a meaningful article, but here is an excerpt :

Wow! You see a lot of people walking past the rubbish trucks / trolleys with utter disdain on their faces. We seldom hear of, nor see a fellow Singaporean teaching his/her children to respect the domestic help, much less a 'waste management worker'. I really applaud this lady for teaching her son to respect all humans, regardless of status, race, and occupation. Too many parents pass teach their children, either consciously or unwittingly, to segregate between the have's and have-not's, the 'successful' and the 'failures' in society. We definitely need more enlightened parents like this lady around to ensure that our society remains gracious!

This is definitely something to think about as we go about our busy lives.

The decomposed corpse of a German man was found alone in his bed after nearly seven years, police in the western city of Essen said Thursday.

The police said in a statement the man was 59 and unemployed at the time of his death. He most likely died of natural causes on November 30, 2000, the date he received a letter from the Welfare Office found in the apartment, police said.
